The funny and sweeping music dance show «The House of the Holy Afro» opens this year’s music programme at the Club. What at first glance looks like a frivolous ethnic show with a Dadaist streak turns out in fact, to be a dazzling political revue. Brett Bailey, one of Africa’s most renowned and imaginative directors, dispatches with verve popular clichés about the Dark Continent. Third World of Bunfight make the stage explode with an exuberant mix of musical styles: traditional African, rejoicing gospel and pumping house. One thing is for sure: once you have tasted this exhilarating blend of voodoo and kitsch, you can definitely forget everything you ever wanted to know about Africa, but were afraid to ask. (jwy)
